Newstube

This series comes from the frontline and puts you in the heart of battle. From unseen frontline footage filmed by the soldiers with headcams and phones. This is the untold story of modern warefare. Too close for comfort.


The Model Prisoners

The story of the female prisoners of one of Brazil’s harshest female prisons who enter a beauty pageant to find the country’s most beautiful prisoner. This promo was shown to distributors interested in taking the film on, and ensured back2back were able to raise the final capital needed to go on and finish the film, which has now been shown in over sixteen countries.


The Cocaine Diaries

Alex James admits to spending over one million pounds on cocaine during his time in Britpop band Blur. Back2back make a half hour film for Panorama broadcast in January 2008. The one hour cut is promo’d with this clip, and becomes one of the success stories of BBC Worldwide’s 2008 international distribution roster.


Selamarit's Story

This dramatic footage was filmed by David Notman-Watt in 2002 for CNN. Now, seven years later, David is returning to Ethiopia to track down then eight year old Selamarit. This is her story, and this promo is being used to raise the needed capital for the return trip, planned for late 2009 when Selamarit will have her sixteenth birthday, and enter womanhood.


So you think you know about climate change?

Developed in association with the United Nations Environment Programme this series aimed to uncover the truth behind the many fables that have grown out of our fears of climate change. The series eventually became ‘The Responsible Business’ series made by back2back for Global Initiatives and broadcast on CNBC…in association with UNEP.


The Gem Hunter

This 12x52 minute series currently in development by back2back productions follows Ron Le Blanc, a gem expert prepared to travel to the ends of the earth (and beyond) in search of that elusive precious stone.


One Handed Writing

This is the story of author and journalist Rupert Smith who has been writing fiction for 12 years. In 2001, unable to find a publisher for his second novel, he knocked out a pornographic pot-boiler ‘Back Passage’ for the now-defunct UK publisher, Zipper Books, under the nom de porn James Lear. Lear is now one of the world’s most successful pornographic authors in the world, a world to be explored in this fascinating feature documentary.


The Universe

Former rock star, cheese maker, and now star gazer Alex James, presents a never seen before exploration of outer space using the latest technology developed at NASA. Space, as you’ve never seen it before. Distributed as a DVD with the global publishing success that is ‘Universe: A journey from earth to the edge of the cosmos’.


Aled's Christmas Carols

Aled’s Christmas Carols was broadcast on ITV1 on Christmas Eve 2008. This promo ran for two weeks across the ITV channels in the build up to Christmas.

Josef Fritzl: Story of a Monster was broadcast on Sky One on March 23rd 2009. This is the story of Josef Fritzl - his upbringing, his life, his personality- and through those closest to him we attempt to understand what led him to lock up his daughter for 24 years and have seven children with her.
