The Froncysyllte Male Voice Choir hail from the tiny welsh town of Froncysyllte, right next to Llangollen and in the shadow of Thomas Telford's famous aqueduct. The choir is a fundamental pillar of this local community.
Fate intervened in August 2004 when the Fron were discovered and signed by Daniel Glatman, who heard them perform at a wedding in Wales. Glatman, The manager of boy band, Blue – the biggest UK boy band since Take That, simply, “had to put their sound on record”.
“Voices of the Valley” went on to become the fastest selling classical record of all time. More than a story simply about a choir making a record, this is the story of a local community. It's a story that crosses socio-economic and age barriers. It's about real, proud, interesting and charming people who are embarking on the adventure of making and promoting a record together. This documentary follows their lives as they are thrown into a new world of recordings, TV appearances and press. All the while they continue to stay true to the heart of the choir and their community roots.
